Alice Ann Coleman

Alice Ann Coleman, age 77, passed away on July 5, 2026 in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born to the late Merl Matheson and Hazel Morris Matheson on November 22, 1948 in Hayesville, North Carolina. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Matheson; Dorthy Matheson; and Beatrice Matheson; brothers Grady Matheson; and Merl Matheson Jr.; her husband, Steve Coleman; and her daughter Shelly Owenby.

Alice is survived by her children Annette (Roy) Cobb of Blairsville, GA; Rick Owenby; Robert Owenby of Gainsville, GA; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren also survive. Along with many other extended family members and friends.

Mrs. Coleman spent her career in nursing. She sought to bring comfort to people that were hurting and encouragement to patients in their recovery time. She had a deep abiding faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Alice enjoyed being out in God's created world of nature through camping, boating and motorcycling. She had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice will be sincerely missed and remembered by many as she lives on in the presence of her Lord and in the hearts and minds of others,
