Mrs. Anna Mae Burnett, age 85 of Suches, GA, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Union County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Burnett was born Monday, May 15, 1922 in Union County, Georgia to the late Ed Dyer and the late Bertha Hood Dyer. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband,Tom Berry Burnett and brother, James Perry Dyer.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Thomas Harold and Doris Burnett of Gainesville, GA, daughter, Barbara Jean Adams of Suches, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Janice Burnett and J.R. Holloway of Suches, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Eddie and Donna Burnett of Elijay, GA, daughter, Karen Faye Burnett of Suches, GA, daughter & son-in-law, Melissa and Lenny Parks of Suches, GA, sister, Lois Allen of Lithonia, GA, sister, Wilma Mote of Decatur, GA, sister, Genell Burns of Young Harris, GA, brother, Harold Dyer of Blairsville, GA, sister, Sarah Ruth Payne of Cleveland, GA, 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandhildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M., instate 1:30 p.m., from the Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Edmondson and Rev. Russell Lyle officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery . Serving as pallbearers are: Wayne Adams, Gregg Holloway, Benjamin Parks, Heath Burnett, Tony Burnett and Chris Burnett. Honorary pallbearers include: Eric, Levi, Steve and Tommy Burnett, Andy Adams and Kevin McCoy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, March 1.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Zion Baptist Church.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
