Barbara Cannon

Barbara Jo Cannon, 72, of Copperhill, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at Northside Hospital Atlanta. Barbara was born on August 6, 1951, in Memphis, TN to Jim Lawson SR and Leona (Lawson) Smith.


Barbara was preceded in death by father and mother; husband, Bobby Cannon; and brother, Dennis Lawson.


She is survived by her brother Jim F. Lawson Jr. (Angie); daughters, Suzanne (Chris) Walters and Christie Jo Williams, son Terry (Beverly) Cannon; grandchildren, Allison (Tyler) Wilson, Morgan Walters, Robin (Brett) Brannon, Jordan Abraham, Brittney (Chris) Copeland, T.C. (Sarah) Cannon, Jenna (Andy) Brito; great-grandchildren, Lois Brannon, Lillian Walters, Cooper Brannon, Carson Copeland, Christian Copeland, Amara Brito, and Maggie Cannon.


Barbara was a Christian by faith; as well as, a loving, caring, funny, hard-working, strong woman who you could always count on. She retired as a General Manager after 40-plus years at Angelo’s Steak Pit. She considered many people there to be family. She then made her home in Copperhill (Ducktown), Tennessee with lifelong friend Helen Weaver, fulfilling a dream of living in the Smokey Mountains. A daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was an amazing woman who will be greatly missed by all.


In honoring her wishes, there will be no public services. But she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Greenwood Cemetery, Panama City FL.
