Barbara Ann Johns

Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Johns, 73, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, in Ellijay, GA. Bobbie was born December 18, 1952, in Atlanta, GA to John Robert and Margaret Ealy Johns.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Johns; and mother, Margaret Ealy Johns.

She is survived by her sister, Susan Piros & brother-in-law, Dr. George Piros; sister-in-law, Dr. Judith Piros; her beloved corgi, Owen, and numerous cousins.

She was a member of Blue Ridge Methodist Church. She graduated from Walker High School Class of 1970 and then graduated with a degree in Horticulture from the University of Georgia. Bobbie worked at the University of Georgia as well as Georgia Tech University and later retired from Georgia State University as the Chemistry Lab Coordinator for the Nursing Program. Bobbie loved gardening, reading and knitting. Bobbie loved her family and friends, especially Liz Walters, Mary Jean Pace, and Sharon Thompson, her crazy corgi Owen, but most of all she loved the Lord.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the staff of Parkside Senior Living in Ellijay, GA. and a special thanks to Compassus Hospice including Diane, Barry, and Tim.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
