Benny Burnette

Gary "Benny" Berry Burnette, 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at his home in Blairsville,Georgia. Gary was born December 31, 1947, to Anceberry and Donnie Harkins Burnette. 

Benny was an elder at his dearly loved church, New Liberty Baptist. He enjoyed singing and playing music, especially gospel. He loved working on hotrods and attending car shows. He loved to play Yahtzee and Rummy with his family, and had a competitive spirit. Above all else, he loved his family. He instilled in them his great faith in his savior, Jesus Christ, impressing upon them the importance of prayer and to never go to bed angry. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Purple Heart recipient.

Benny was preceded in death by father, Anceberry Burnette; mother, Donnie Burnette; and sisters, Sherry Southerland and Tammi Lee.

 He is survived by his, beloved wife, Pearlene Burnette; Son, Shane (Chantelle) Burnette; daughter, Tina Cunningham; step-son Danny Jones; step-daughter Rhonda Cole; brothers, Johnny Burnette and Ronnie Burnette; sister and brother-and-law, Kathy Lloyd and John Breneman;grandchildren, Aaron, Elijah, Noah, Miriam, Warren, Kennedy, and Tyler; and great-grandchild, Camo. Many other loved ones also survive.

 Memorial Service, on Monday February 19, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville with Rev. Danny White and Derrick Pruitt officiating. Music provided by Warren and Josie Cole and Diane Griffith.

 The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville on Sunday, 18th of February, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
