William “Billy” David Allen, affectionately known as Bull entered the world on April 21, 1944, in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He lived a fulfilling life, marked by dedication and love, and he departed this life peacefully on July 11, 2025, surrounded by his cherished family.
Billy David devoted thirty years to a meaningful career at Hercules Manufacturing and Textile Company in Covington, Georgia, where he was respected and admired for his hard work and commitment. His legacy is one of integrity, perseverance, and warmth, virtues that deeply resonated within his family.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, a duty that showcased not only his bravery but also his unwavering love for his nation. His contributions extended beyond his military service; as an ordained deacon, he truly embodied the spirit of service and had a profound impact on the lives he touched.
Billy David was a man with a great sense of humor, who filled every space he occupied with joy and laughter. Being a devoted husband to his beloved wife, the late Nancy Harper Allen, and a proud father to the late William David Allen Jr., he embraced family values deeply. His daughter, Melissa “Missy” Miller, and her husband, David Miller, brought him immense joy, alongside his grandsons, David Lee Miller II (Lee) and his wife Hannah Jump Miller and Jacob Allen Miller. He cherished every moment spent with them, reveling in the beauty of family life, whether it was through spirited gatherings or treasured outings.
One of Billy David's happiest memories was simply Missy being a daddy’s girl and sharing meals with his family, where laughter and stories created their bond.
In his leisure time, Billy enjoyed cutting grass and he loved his lawn mowers. Back- in-the day he enjoyed midnight bowling and camping adventures. He was not just a husband and father; he was a friend and a confidant who loved to pick at his wife, creating a playful atmosphere that epitomized their enduring love.
As family and friends gather to celebrate his life, we remember the richness he brought to our hearts and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. The visitation will take place on July 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both held at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He will then be laid to rest during a burial ceremony at Sugarhill Baptist Church in Suches, Georgia, at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Billy David’s memory to Disabled American Veterans at help.dav.org.
Billy David Allen’s life is a testimony to the love of family, kindness, and the importance of laughter. In our grief, we find solace in the legacy he leaves behind, an everlasting bond filled with memories that will continue to inspire and uplift.
