Brenda Queen, a beloved mother and grandmother, departed this life on August 9, 2026, at the age of 81. Brenda was born on June 26, 1945, in Ducktown, Tennessee, to the late Young and Iva Lee Gilliam.

Brenda, alongside the love of her life, Bill, owned several businesses and worked in the Blue Ridge community for many years; however, she was most proud of her work as a mom, devoting her life to her family. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and served in many capacities, including the Bus Ministry, children's ministry, and youth ministries.

In addition to her familial commitments, Brenda's presence in the Blue Ridge community was noteworthy. She served on the city council for many years and engaged in various local businesses, leaving behind a legacy of service and love.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents and husband Bill Queen.

Brenda is survived by her son Jason (Esther) Queen, daughter Kimberly (Jesse) Miller, son Matthew (Nicole) Queen; grandchildren: Hannah Queen, Bethel Queen, Moses Queen, Abram Miller, Sarah Miller, Gideon Miller, Elijah Miller, Chloe Miller, Isaac Miller, Isabella Queen, Scarlett Queen, and Katherine Queen. She is also survived by her brothers; LaVern (Janice) Gilliam and Hugh (Gail) Gilliam, sister-in-laws; Carolyn Zuegel and Maude Ann Power. Many nieces and nephews also survive. 

She was a pillar of strength and support to her children and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Brenda's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home - Blue Ridge Chapel on August 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. Matthew Queen and Rev. Jason Queen Officiating.

Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 PM on Sunday.

Brenda will be laid to rest at Barnes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The following gentlemen are serving as pallbearers: Abram Miller, Gideon Miller, Elijah Miller, Moses Queen, Seth McClure, and Chris Thigpen.

Honorary pallbearers include Isaac Miller, Paul Murphy, Dawson Heaton, Tony Lindsey, Robbie Stuart, Nate Maloof, and the staff and deacons of Temple Baptist Church.

Brenda Queen's life was a beautiful tapestry of service, love, and family devotion. Her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
