Buddy J. Collins, age 74, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away May 7, 2026, at home surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dyanne; brother Kirby "Kirk" Collins and several nieces and nephews. Buddy was born in Golden Meadow, Louisiana on December 25, 1951, to the late Kirby and Eula Collins. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Patsy Culpepper and Judy Duet.
Buddy enjoyed working at Nortel Networks and retired after 30 years. He loved woodworking, building furniture and working outside. Buddy was an avid stamp collector since childhood and founded his own business, Stampconnections.com.
Buddy moved to Atlanta in 1984 where he met his wife, Dyanne. They bought property in Mineral Bluff in 1986 and built a log cabin as a vacation home where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends.
After Buddy retired in 2006, they built a new house on the property and moved there. He did a lot of the inside finishing work on their log cabin and the new house, which they designed together. He also enjoyed being in a bowling league at Fannin Lanes. Buddy and Dyanne loved jazz music and would regularly attend the annual New Orleans Jazzfest.
