Carmell C Dean

Carmell C. Dean, age 83 of Blairsville, passed away on April 2, 2026. Born on July 9, 1942, in Blairsville, Georgia, Carmell dedicated her life to family, friendship, and community service, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Carmell is survived by her son, Terry Warren, and his wife, Casandra of Blairsville; step-daughters, Martha O'Kelley and her husband, John of Monticello, Georgia; Judith King and her husband, David of Marietta, Georgia; and daughter Gloria Morris of Panama City, Florida. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. 

Carmell was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jesse Corn, husbands, Stancill Warren and Charles Dean; and son Ricky Warren. She was also preceeded in death by two grandsons.

Her professional career was marked by dedication and leadership at Bellsouth, where she not only excelled as a manager but also took on the role of leader with the Bellsouth Pioneers after she retired. Her unwavering spirit and work ethic earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and peers.

In honor of Carmell's life and legacy, a visitation will be held at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel on April 3, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. 

A funeral service will take place on April 4, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blairsville Chapel, with Rev. Gerald McGaha Jr. Interment will follow at the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Drew Schug, Daryl Green, Peyton McGaha, Eric King, and Jordan McGaha.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the cemetery fund of New Harmony Baptist Church, honoring Carmell's life.

A devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves, Carmell found great joy in the simple pleasures of life-feeding the deer, cherishing time by the beach, and most importantly, sitting on her porch each evening as she would say, "watching the world go by."
