Carol Freeland

Carol Jane Freeland, age 78, passed away on January 4, 2026 in Acworth, Georgia. She was born on April, 7, 1947 in Hiawassee, Georgia to the late Ralph Nicholson and Claire Kirby Nicholson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Winford Freeland and a brother, Keith Nicholson. She is survived by a son, Jason Freeland, and a sister, Janice Hogsed. Many other extended family members also survive. 

A very caring wife and loving mother truly described Carol Jane Freeland. She was a woman of strong faith in her personal Christian walk. Her work ethic was strong and enduring.

 A graveside memorial service is scheduled to be conducted at a later date in the Enotah Cemetery in Hiawassee, Georgia. Cochran/McDaniel Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Carol Jane Freeland.
