Carolyn Frances Rogers

Carolyn Frances Rogers, age 81, passed away in Murphy, North Carolina on Thursday, February 12, 2026. She was born in Murphy, North Carolina on April 30 1944 to the late Thad and Nessie McTaggart Laney. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Charles Laney; sister, Shirley Williams and grandson, David Rogers.

She is survived by sons, Eddie (Sally) Rogers and Scott (Nancy) Rogers; brother Calvin (Annette) Laney, Bobby (Flo) Laney and Denny (Sandy) Laney; sister in law, Faye Laney and brother in law, Jim Williams; grandchildren, Sean (Illana) Rogers, Barrett (Katie) Rogers, Brandon (Ariel) Rogers, and Tonya (Mark) Harris. Numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Carolyn retired from Levi's in Murphy, North Carolina. She was known as a person that always spoke her mind and all would know exactly where she stood on any issue. Her faith with the Lord was strong. Church was a vital part of her faith relationship where she could offer praise, worship, and enjoy Christian fellowship. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She will be remembered as a loving and generous person.

Funeral services are scheduled to be conducted on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, North Carolina with Preacher Kenny Corn and Preacher Harold Stiles officiating. Music will be shared by The Corn Family and Makenna Gribble. Interment will follow the service in the Hanging Dog Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends in a time of visitation on Monday, February 16, 2025 at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel from 12 noon until the 2:00 P.M. funeral service hour.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Josh Laney, Chris Laney, Jeff Laney, Andrew Laney, Keith Williams, and Phillip Davis; honorary pallbearer will be Tony Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request that donations in Carolyn's memory to St. Jude's or Gideons' International.
