Charles Ozwell Smith, 80, of Blairsville, GA, passed away on March 30, 2024. He was born on March 31, 1943, in Athens GA, to the late I.C. and Ruby Smith.
Charles was a dedicated educator who passionately shared his knowledge of economics and accounting to countless aspiring students at Dalton College and Floyd Jr. College
He was known not only for his academic contributions but also for his warm and sociable nature. Described as someone who truly enjoyed fellowshipping with people, he made a lasting impact on all those who had the pleasure of knowing him
In addition to his successful career, Charles found joy in teaching and playing pickleball exceptionally well. An avid Georgia Bulldog Fan, he cheered for his favorite team with unwavering enthusiasm.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Smith; daughter Lisa (Ron) Johnson; brother Phillip Smith; and grandchildren Lily (Mason) Grant, and Porter (Trystan) Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his parents I.C. and Ruby Smith and his son Greg Smith.
Family will gather with friends at Coosa Methodist Church for visitation on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, at Coosa Methodist Church at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bill Burch and Rev. Porter Johnson officiating.
