Charles Watkins

June 6, 1944 — October 9, 2025

Charles Franklin Watkins, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on June 6, 1944, to Frank Watkins and Edna Long Hunter in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Charles was a lifelong resident of Fannin County, where he cultivated deep roots and lasting relationships.

A dedicated and skilled statuary, Charles spent many years working in the concrete industry, proudly operating his own business and leaving a legacy of craftsmanship that will not be forgotten. His work was not just a profession but a passion, one that he pursued with unwavering dedication and pride. He also worked for many years in the mines at the Tennessee Chemical Company, as well as worked in maintenance at Fannin Regional Hospital. Charles loved being outdoors and enjoyed flowers. He also enjoyed raising Jack Russell dogs, which brought him much joy.

Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he took great joy in them. He is also survived by long-time business partner and friend, Jeff Dean.

Charles was preceded in death by his father and mother, Frank Watkins and Edna Long Hunter, his wife, Ola Dills Watkins, and siblings, Joel Watkins, Winston Watkins, Alline Anderson, and Jean Kendall.
