Cheryl Diane Matzek

Cheryl Diane Matzek, age 81, passed away on January 15, 2026 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Cheryl was born to Elmer and Loretta Dreger Beierer on February 21, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jim Matzek. 

Cheryl had a smile that was contagious to all she met. She had a deep and abiding love for her children. A quick wit and a sassy response came from her often bringing additional smiles to others. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a special legacy to her. 

She is survived by her daughter, Yvette (Roger) Matzek; sons, Jim Matzek and Matt (Bridget) Matzek; sister, Laura Bunyon; grandchildren, Henry and Natalia; step grandchildren, Robyn and Nick and step great grandchildren, David, Hunter and Harper. 

The family will have a celebration of life at a future date.
