Danny Joe "d.j." Mcdougal

Danny Joe "D.J." McDougal, age 51, of Copperhill, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007 at his home. D.J. was born Tuesday, December 6, 1955 in Polk County Tenn. to the late Miles McDougal and the late Maxine Sisson McDougal. He was a liked and well known tavern owner for many years in the Turtletown area. D.J. was good hearted and had a great sense of humor which will be missed.

Survivors include: son, Chad McDougal of Savannah, daughter, Whitney McDougal of Blairsville, brother & sister in law, Mike & Cindy McDougal of Ducktown, niece, Lauren Skellenger of Knoxville.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2:00PM from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Denise Caldwell and Reverend Donald Weaver officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Janice Reed. Interment followed in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were: Mike Griffith, Gary Griffith, Travis Luttrell, Charles Cole, Larry Cross and Steve Sisson. Honorary pallbearers included: Robbie Cearley and Bill Gaddis.
