David Dean Christjansen, age 84 passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025. Born on April 21, 1941, in Peoria, Illinois, David embraced life with a joyful spirit and a remarkable ability to connect with everyone he met. He resided in Mineral Bluff, Georgia.
David enjoyed a distinguished career as a Meat Market Manager at Publix, where he dedicated over 40 years of service. His work was a testament to his unwavering commitment and passion for the grocery industry. A loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, David leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Marian Christjansen. He is also survived by his children: Erich Christjansen, Lori (Michael) Clezie, and Tara (Shay) Sabom, along with his precious grandchildren, Asher Sabom, Addie Sabom, and Evie Sabom. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters, Mary Lou (Jack) Hartley and Marta (Mark) Daniell.David was preceded in death by his parents, Nels and Eloise Christjansen, and siblings, J.R.
Christjansen and Karen Bradt.An avid baseball enthusiast, David was a train enthusiast and member of the Tri-State Railroad club. He also loved baseball and football. David delighted in attending his grandchildren's sporting events, always the proud supporter who cheered them on with enthusiasm and love.A faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, David's strong faith in the Lord guided his life. He lived by the principle of kindness and friendship, possessing a great personality and a heart that never met a stranger.
A Memorial service honoring David's remarkable life will be held at Temple Baptist Church on June 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Roger Beck.David Dean Christjansen will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
