June 23, 1944 - July 20, 2026
Mrs. Dawn Morrison Gray, of Blue Ridge, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in her mountain home.
Born on June 23, 1944, in Macon, Georgia, Dawn was the daughter of the late Forrest Adair Morrison and Mary Thelma Wood Morrison. She graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna, Georgia, in 1962 and continued her education at Reinhardt University. On June 10, 1967, she married the love of her life, Jack H. Gray, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned nearly six decades.
Dawn dedicated 34 years of her career to American Business Products, retiring as Corporate Secretary. She was known for her dedication, professionalism, and the friendships she built throughout her career.
A woman of deep faith, Dawn was a devoted member of Coosa Methodist Church in Blairsville, Georgia. She was also a member of the Smyrna Social Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, Olde Hightower Trail Chapter. One of Dawn's proudest accomplishments was earning her black belt in taekwondo.
To know Dawn was to know warmth. She truly never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family. Whether she was tending to her beautiful gardens, decorating her home for every season, or simply sharing stories about the people she loved most, Dawn brought joy wherever she went. Her greatest pride was her family, and she spoke of them often with a smile that reflected just how deeply she loved them. She had a servant's heart, a generous spirit, and a way of making ordinary moments feel special. Her kindness and contagious love for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Jack H. Gray; her brothers, Rex Morrison (Andrea) of Canton, Georgia, and Don Morrison of Kennesaw, Georgia; her nieces and nephews, Seth Morrison, Jamie Sandin, Andy Captain (Dagmar), Chip Gray (Kathy), and Stan Gray; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Sawyer Sandin, Alexis Sandin, Alexis Marino (Joseph), Alisha Captain (Brian), Ariel Captain, Bailey Dawn Gray, Charlotte Gray, and Bea Gray.
Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is home with her Savior, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her legacy of faith, love, hospitality, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to bloom in the lives of those she touched, just as beautifully as the gardens she so lovingly tended.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
The family is planning a Celebration of Life to honor and remember Dawn. Service details will be shared once arrangements have been finalized.
