Donna Jean McKinzie

Donna Jean McKinzie, age 65, of Mineral Bluff, GA, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, after a short courageous battle with lung cancer. Born a twin on August 18, 1959, in Duluth, GA, Jean had an unconditional love for her four-legged fur babies and would often open her heart and home to pets who were old and sick.

Jean is preceded in death by her only daughter, Happy Gail Bennett; her parents, John and Grace McKinzie, brothers, Jerry McKinzie and Gerald McKinzie; and brothers-in-law, David Hickey and Tommy Swancey.

She is survived by brother, Stanley McKenzie; twin sister, Joan Swancey; sisters, Brenda Hickey and Glenda McKinzie; Numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Cross Plains Baptist Church, located at 6500 McGinnis Ferry Rd, in Alpharetta, GA. Family and friends are invited to join.
