Elizabeth Paschal Cooksey of Blairsville, GA died peacefully in her sleep at Stonehenge Assisted Living December 22, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, William R. Cooksey III.
The daughter of the late Thomas D. and Venice L. Paschal, Elizabeth was born in Atlanta December 15, 1933. She was a graduate of Bass High School and received her BA degree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
Elizabeth was an active volunteer in her community, wherever she was living. A member of the Institute for Continuing Learning at Young Harris College since its inception, she was a proponent of education at all ages of life.
Elizabeth traveled the world with her family, including spending 20 years in New Zealand. She will be remembered for her love of community, her kindness, and for her unconditional love and support of her family. She is survived by her 4 children: Patricia, William, Christopher and Melissa, her 7 grandchildren, and her 6 great grandchildren.
