Elizabeth Rogers

Elizabeth Jean Rogers, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on May 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on August 22, 1939, Elizabeth lived a life devoted to her faith, her family, and her community.

A long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Union County, Jean spent countless hours reading her Bible and was actively involved in church activities. She played an instrumental role in establishing the Children's Enrichment Center at her church, demonstrating her dedication to nurturing the next generation.

Jean was a loving wife to her husband of 66 years, Tommy Rogers, and a devoted mother to her children, Thea (Daniel) Rogers and Tommy (Caren) Rogers. She took immense joy in being a grandmother to Dylan, Devin, Alex, and Grace, cherishing every moment spent with them.

In addition to her family life, Jean contributed to the family business, Rogers Furniture and Appliance, where she worked alongside her husband. Her talents in crafting and sewing reflected her creative spirit and love.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Vena "Pat" Nichols; father, Guy Cain; and stepfather, James "Bud" Nichols.

Jean is survived by her devoted husband, her children Thea (Daniel) Rogers and Tommy (Caren) Rogers; her grandchildren Dillon, Devin, Alex, and Grace; as well as her sisters Jackie Nichols, Micah Nichols, and Jamie Burbage, and her brother Tim Nichols.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at 11:00 am at Union Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children's Enrichment Center of First United Methodist Church of Union County.

Elizabeth Jean Rogers will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith, love, and family will continue to inspire all who knew her.
