This is the day the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! Elizabeth Butler "Betty" Watson changed her permanent address to Heaven on April 3rd, 2023. She was 1 week shy of her 86th birthday having been born to Walter Hermon and Ela Thelma Butler on April 10th, 1937 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. She was a graduate of Wake Forest University and the wife of J B Watson of Blairsville for the past 66 years. She is joined in the afterlife by both of her parents and her daughter Tamera Jean. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 3 children: Elizabeth  Watson Nowell and her husband Greg Nowell of Stafford, VA, Walter Bennet Watson and his wife Sherry Watson of Blackshear, GA and Frank Phillips Watson and his wife Loralyn Watson of Alabaster , AL as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Betty was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church. She endeavored to live her life in service to our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ and through her actions and words glorify HIS name.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Choestoe Baptist Church in her name.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 at 10:30 am at Choestoe Baptist Church with Pastor John Thompson officiating.
