Emmanuel A Martinez Jr

Emmanuel Anthony Martinez, Jr., "Buck" was born on February 13, 1942, in Jacksonville, Florida to Emmanuel Anthony Martinez Sr. and Evelyn Norman Martinez, and passed away on May 23, 2023, in Ocala, Florida. Buck served in the Air National Guard for 6 years. After having a very successful career with Winn-Dixie for 43 years, where he worked his way up the corporate ladder, Buck retired to his home in Blairsville, Georgia. Even though his main home was in Blairsville, Georgia, Buck still loved to return to the cabin in Salt Springs Florida, to enjoy one of his favorite hobbies, fishing. Buck also loved to hunt. Buck was an NRA member and enjoyed Nascar.

Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Emmanuel and Evelyn Martinez; wife, Dolores Martinez; sisters, Teresa Martinez Gasney and Gloria Ann Gibson.

Buck is survived by his wife of eight years, Beverly Jean Martinez; five children, Johnny (Tammy) Allen, Delisa Allen, Kevin Allen, Bobbie (Brian) Lancaster, and Janet Turner; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Martinez Fletcher; brothers-in-law, Eddie Gosney and Dale Gibson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at Choestoe Baptist Church, in Blairsville, with Rev. Ken Zollinger and Pastor John Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in the Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery, with graveside Military Honors presented by North Georgia Honor Guard.  Music provided by Brian Lancaster and Julia Thompson. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Brian Lancaster, Frank Kovache, Jared Luke, Grant Monney, Keith Burdette, Travis Wisener, Steven Allen, and Johnny Allen.

The family will receive friends at Choestoe Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
