Eric Andrew Jones

Eric Andrew Jones, age 57, of Braselton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, in Braselton, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his father; Wendell B. Jones Jr.; Paternal grandparents, Wendell B . Jones Sr and Shirley Jones; Maternal grandparents, Harless C. and Lucy A. Jones and father-in-law, Roy Ball.

 

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Marsha Ball Jones; daughter, Caitlin Jones (Thomas "TJ") Martin; son, Kyle Jones; Mother, Nancy J. Jones-Jordan; Mother in law and husband, Bonnie Ball (Guy Woody); Brothers, B. Wendell (Briana) Jones of Fuquay Varina, NC; David M. Jones and partner, Farrell Doss of Christiansburg, VA; Nephew and wife, Samuel B. (Emory) Jones of Roanoke, VA; Niece and husband, Hannah (Will) Hopkins of Gaithersburg, MD; and niece, Macie L. Jones of Bethesda, MD; Aunt, Nadine Jones of Kingsport, TN and numerous cousins in the North Carolina and Tennessee area.

 

Eric was a 1983 graduate of the Pulaski County High School and a member of the Pulaski County Cougar Football team from 1980-1983.  He was a Supply Sargent and Infantryman in the Virginia Army National Guard for 15 years.  Eric began his career in the automotive industry as a Purchasing Manager and ended with his dream job as Director of Operations at Pyrotechnique by Grucci, Inc.  He finally found his home while working at Grucci.  His work family quickly learned of his love for Mickey Mouse and made him feel welcome by surrounding his office with Mickey.

 

Other than his family, Eric did have a few "obsessions".  These included the University of Virginia football, Disney and all things Mickey, along with photography.  Somehow, he blended all of these together to make Eric unique and special.

 

Eric's jobs took him all over the world, but he still managed to rarely miss a sporting event of his children.  He would drive five hours every Friday to watch Caitlin as a majorette in the band or Kyle in football. Watching the kids grow and become adults were his proudest moments.  We soon added TJ when Caitlin got married, and while Eric did his best to "scare" him off, TJ soon became a dearly loved bonus son in our family.  To say Eric was proud and loved his kids more than life, would be an understatement!

 

The last year and a half have been a roller coaster since finding out Eric was sick.  He had ups and downs, but always kept his sense of humor.  That kept us all going.  He was always very kind and grateful to his medical staff who always went above and beyond for all of us!

 

We have such wonderful and fun memories.  That is how Eric wanted to be remembered and that is how we will honor him.  He would always say, "No one can be sad when they are wearing Mickey!"  So, we will wear Mickey and think happy, wonderful thoughts and have the sweetest memories! Funeral services for Eric Andrew Jones are scheduled for Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2:00p.m. from the Chapel of the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia.  The family will be receiving friends during a time of visitation at the funeral home from 11:00a.m. and until the 2:00p.m. funeral hour.  Rev. John Culver will officiate at the funeral service and Paula Culver will provide music.  The North Georgia Honor Guard will give final military honors at the conclusion of the chapel service.  Interment will follow the service and military honors at the Concord Baptist Chruch in Morganton, Georgia.
