Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Ethel D. Everett, age 89, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Thursday, March 25, 2010 at her home.

Mrs. Everett was born in Towns County, Georgia, on Wednesday, March 31, 1920, a daughter of the late Doll Denton and the late Myrtle Eller Denton. Mrs. Everett had worked during World War II at the Bell Bomber plant in Marietta. She had lived most of her life in Blairsville, and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. Active with the Union County Senior Center, Mrs. Everett enjoyed quilting. Preceding her in death besides her parents: her husband, Glenn Everett; a son, Phillip G. Everett; five sisters: Mae Bell Denton; Grace Nicholson; Gladys Hooper; Dorsey Worley Fink; Edith Chambers; and a brother, Earl Denton.

Surviving family members include son and daughter-in-law, James L. and Patricia Everett, of Blairsville; a brother, George Denton, of North Charleston, South Carolina; a sister, Opal Buchanan, of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Carmen Keith, of Blairsville. Two grandchildren and their spouses: Dean and Angie R. Everett and Donna and Clyde Carroll; five great grandchildren: Dalton Everett, Lane Everett, Clay Carroll, Maci R. Everett, and Coty Carroll. Many friends and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services have been scheduled for Sunday, March 28, 2010, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Charles Gillespie, and Dr. John Kay officiating. The family will meet with friends on Saturday evening, March 27, 2010, at the funeral home from 6 until 9 p.m. Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
