Eugene Edward Gaston

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Eugene Edward Gaston, who departed this life on December 19, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on April 27, 1939, Eugene spent his final years as a resident of Blairsville, Georgia, where he was a member of the House of Prayer.

Eugene dedicated his working life to managing a machinist shop, a role that showcased his remarkable skills and unwavering work ethic. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including a deep affection for country and western music. An avid driver, he relished the freedom of the open road and the joy it brought him. Eugene had a well-known sweet tooth, with honeybuns and coffee being among his most-loved treats.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dora May Gaston; wife, Mary Kelly; 4 brothers; and 1 sister.

He is survived by his sons, Ronnie and Victor Gaston; sister, Shirley Swanson of Hayesville, NC; nieces, Julie McPherson and Sherrie Mickler; nephew, Scottie Mickler; granddaughters Amanda and April; and many other grandchildren and greatgranchildren.
