Felston J. "andy" Anderson

Mr. Felston J. "Andy" Anderson, age 84 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at his home. Mr. Anderson was born Thursday, January 18, 1923 in Elba, AL to the late James Lafate Anderson and the late Louader Clark Anderson. Mr. Anderson worked for Western Electric Co. (Bell Telephone) for 34 years, retiring in 1981. He started his career in Atlanta, Georgia in 1946, and retired in West Palm Beach, Florida in 1981. He moved to Blairsville in 1990. Andy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was a veteran of WW II having served in the Army Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ila Faye Anderson in 1997.
Survivors include: four daughters, Karen Miller of Jasper, GA, Jodi Anderson of Jasper, GA, Terri Anderson of Ellijay, GA and Robin Anderson of Greenville, SC, three step-daughters, Reba Mixon of Silver Springs, FL, Jean Luska of Palm Beach, FL and Peggy White of Cypress Inn, TN, two step-sons, Charles Parks of Port St. Lucie, FL and David Parks of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, two brothers-in-law, Ralph McArthur of South Carolina and Marshall Cornelius of Alabama. Five grandsons, four granddaughters, four great grandchildren, twelve nephews and twelve nieces also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 11:00 AM from the Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. George Cline officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:30 until 11:00 AM. Music will be provided by The Jubilee Choir and Tammy Blasingame. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Jim Ackles, Wendell Carr, Jim Clark, Steve Drake, David Floyd and Clarence Phillips. Honorary pallbearers include: Bill Drake, Ray Roberts, Terry Kintz, Rodney Dye, Keith Kowalski, Larry Mixon, Chuck Parks, Sr., David Parks, John Luksa, Gene White, Chuck Parks, Jr., Jay Mixon, Barry Boatwright, Adam Gumson, Steven White and Russell White.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9, Friday, August 24.
Flowers will be accepted, however, if you wish, the family suggests that donations may be made to Regency Hospice of Northeast Georgia, P.O. Box 494, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
