Mrs. Frances Ann Holmelin Haile, 83, went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2026, spending her final moments surrounded by the love of her husband, David Earle Haile. Frances was born on January 18, 1943 to the late Gustaf Homelin and Pauline Hightmuler Homelin in the Panama Canal Zone. She spent 12 years there before moving to the United States.
She earned her BSN, RN at St. Petersburg College and spent 42 years as a nurse. In this field, her caring nature and strong desire to help others serve her well. Families whose loved ones she cared for remember her for the loving care that she provided. Frances dedicated herself to the vulnerable, working on Medsurg, cancer wards, in hospice care, and finally as a mother-baby nurse at Northeast Georgia.
Frances married the love of her life, David Haile, on August 18, 1964. They spent nearly 62 beautiful years together. She enjoyed taking leisurely drives through the countryside and boat rides on the lake. Frances was a mathematical genius, testing in the 97th percentile for math abilities. She enjoyed challenging herself and could often be found playing Sudoku. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.
She is survived by her husband, David; son, Gary; daughter, Melissa; grandchildren, Jack and Ellie; and many nieces and nephews. Numerous friends and loved ones also survive.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
