Frank Bond

December 20, 1989 — June 12, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Frank "Frankie" Edward Bond, who left this world on June 12, 2025, at the age of 35. Born on December 20, 1989, in Snellville, Georgia, Frank was a devoted son, a loving brother, and a cherished friend to many. His life was marked by service, compassion, and an adventurous spirit.

Frank proudly served his country as a Petty Officer in the Navy, where he entered as an E3 and distinguished himself within an aviation unit. A skilled Navy Swimmer and certified scuba diver, he demonstrated remarkable bravery and commitment. After his honorable discharge, Frank brought his passion for service to the DeKalb County Fire Department, where he excelled as a firefighter, fire academy instructor, EMT, engineer driver, and a dedicated member of the Dive Team. His commitment to saving lives and educating future responders was a testament to his character.

A true animal lover, Frank took great joy in the companionship of his dogs and embraced the freedom of riding his motorcycle, being a proud member of the NAM Knights of America Motorcycle Club, Dixie Chapter. He had an infectious spirit that encouraged laughter and smiles wherever he went, and his remarkable wit and warmth endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Frank's adventurous spirit led him to travel far and wide, with some of his favorite destinations including Spain, Amsterdam, and Egypt, where he had the unique experience of swimming in the Nile River. He cherished the memories he created with friends and family throughout these travels. He trusted Christ as his personal savior on April 23, 1998.

Frank leaves behind his beloved mother, Cheryl Bond; father, Clenton Bond; sister, Tina (Todd) Covel; aunts, Sandy Yancey; cousins, Lynn Matthews, Alan (Sarah) Yancey, and Tommy (Ginny) Yancey, as well as his niece, Katelyn Mullins, and nephew, JJ Mullins. He is also survived by Mike and Mary Lopez, who became like "second grandparents" to Frank. He also cherished his relationship with Aunt Sandy, who loved him like a second mom. He truly enjoyed time with his close friend, Abbey Parsons, and friends/brothers Ryan Lopez, and Adam Burt, as well as the close-knit brotherhood of firefighters with whom he served.

Frank was preceded in death by his grandparents, Milford and Jessie Warf, and Edward and Vera Bond and aunt, Bonnie (Bobby) Jones and uncle Berle Yancey.
