Mr. George William Fincher, age 81, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 10, 2007 at Heartland Hospice House in Cartersville, Georgia. Mr. Fincher was born Friday, May 28, 1926, in Fannin County, Georgia, to the late George William Fincher and the late Lemma Parks Fincher. Mr. Fincher was a veteran of World War II, and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of The American Legion; and was a member of The Masons, The Shriners, and was a former member of The Blairsville Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include two sons: Kevin Fincher and Mark Fincher, both Blairsville; and a grandson, Trystyn Fincher, also of Blairsville.
No services are scheduled at this time.
The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Memorial and Honor Program, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; phone number 1-800-873-6983.
