Glenn Arvil Hyatt, age 86 of Brasstown, NC, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home in Murphy.. Mr. Hyatt was born in Clay County, NC on March 12, 1924 to Charles and Hattie Hampton Hyatt. He was a lifelong resident of the local area and a member of Hickory Stand United Methodist Church in Brasstown. Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Hyatt, his parents and a sister, Christine H. Penland.
Survivors include: daughter and her husband, Paula and Stephen Martin of Brasstown, Brother, John T. Hyatt of Candler, NC, nieces and nephews, Linda Sandridge, Keith Penland, Cheryl Carpenter, Rhonda Jarvis, Gail Hopper, Cami Hopper, Van Garner and Tina Johnson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM Sunday, May 9th at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy with the Rev. Kenneth McDonald officiating. The family will recieve friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 until 3:30 PM. Music will be provided by Cindy Martin. Interment will be in the Hickory Stand United Methodist Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are John Sandidge, Jeff Martin, Fred Martin, David Pulliam, David Hyatt and Keith Penland.
