Gloria King
June 29, 1946 — June 30, 2022
Gloria Marshall King, age 76, of Young Harris, passed away early Thursday morning, June 30, 2022, in the Northeast Medical Center. Mrs. King was born on June 29, 1946, to the late Floyd Ernest Marshall, Sr., and Edith Kay Hunter Marshall. Gloria was a member of Woods Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She loved reading mysteries, working on scrapbooks, photography, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. King is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Ernest Marshall, Sr., and mother, Edith Kay Marshall, her husband of thirty-three years, Harold King, niece, Sharon Taylor, and nephew, Derek Marshall.
Survivors include her son, Jason King, daughter, Melissa (Kirt) Kimsey, sisters, Peggy (John) Cozart and Linda Burdette, brother, Floyd (Dorothy) Marshall, Jr., grandchildren, Faith Kimsey and Hope Kimsey, niece and nephews, Kay Hayes, Randy Marshall, Ricky Marshall, six great-nieces and nephews, and a large extended family also survives.
Funeral services schedules for Sunday, July 3, 2022, at 3:00 pm from the Woods Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Richardson and Rev. Scott Sims officiating. Eulogy by Faith Kimsey. Music by Hope Isabella Kimsey, Alan Kendall, Jennifer Marshall, and Kirt Kimsey. Pallbearers: Deacons of the Woods Grove Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers: Ricky Marshall and Randy Marshall. Interment will follow in the Woods Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee Saturday, July 2, 2022, from 6:00 pm - 9:00pm.
