Helen Hopkins Nix, age 79 of Epworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on January 28, 2026. Born in Turtletown, Tennessee, on August 19, 1946, Helen led a life characterized by love, devotion, and a deep faith.
Helen was preceded in death by: Father, David Hopkins, Mother, Martha Wilson Hopkins, and siblings Junior Hopkins, Christine Morrow, and Dorothy Morrow.
Family was the cornerstone of Helen's life. She is survived by her loving spouse, Ernest Nix, and her devoted daughters and Son, Tonya (Barry) Nix , Shelley (Mark) Keaton, Michael (Casey) Nix, and Teresa Adams. She is also survived by her brothers, Johnny Hopkins, and Ronny "Mutt" Hopkins; Grandchildren, Heather (Charles) Vosburgh, Joshua (Shelby) Nix, Ryan (McKinley) Nix, Rusty (Jennifer) Keaton, Victoria (Evan) Chastain, Hayli (Dalton) Dillard, Kristyn (Logan) Taylor, and Brittany Adams; great-grandchildren, Kale, Aubrey, Marlie, Emery, Phen, Beau, Nora, Lawson, Ellie, and Ronan. Helen's legacy of love and strength will continue to resonate through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Helen loved nature and found joy in hummingbirds and the majestic mountains that surrounded her. She embraced her faith with passion, spending countless hours studying the Bible. She enjoyed the fellowship and activities of the church, which provided her with solace and purpose throughout her life.
A Celebration of Life honoring Helen will be held on February 8, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home, Blue Ridge Chapel, with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. All are invited to join in celebrating her life, sharing memories, and reflecting on the profound impact she made on so many.
