Helga Eva (Attwenger) Silva, age 95, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Helga was born September 21, 1927, in Berlin, Germany to the late Max Attwenger and the late Emmy Attwenger. She was a member of faith Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was involved in all other church activities. From 1946 to 1948 she was the office manager and interpreter for the US Military Government. She was fluent in four languages. From 1946 until 1949 she was a singer in a professional band. She managed a woolen mill outlet store from 1952 until 1953, when she decided she would rather be a homebody and raise a family. She loved winter sports, including skiing and ice skating, and she also enjoyed surf fishing. She worked with several charitable organizations, including Snack in a Backpack and Habitat for Humanity. She will be missed by all her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Silva; son, John Silva; daughter, Linda Silva; granddaughter, Sara McLennon and Blane Silva; great-grandchildren, Joseph McLennon, Hunter McLennon, and Kaylee Silva.
