Rev. Jack Harley Cochran, age 51, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on November 23, 2025. Born on October 30, 1974, in Bryson City, NC, Jack was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother whose life was characterized by a deep faith in God, an unwavering love for his family, and a commitment to his community. He was a member of Tow String Baptist Church in Cherokee, NC.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Cochran.
Jack will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Chasity Cochran; his cherished daughter, Sadie Cochran; his mother, Gladys Bales Cochran; and his sister, Melanie Hyatt (Herschel); nieces, Sarah and Harlie Hyatt; and mentor, Linda Morelock. A large extended family and many friends also survive.
A respected pastor, Jack served with distinction at New Harmony Baptist Church and Gumlog Baptist Church, embodying the spirit of faith he preached. He placed God first in every aspect of his life, touching lives with his kindness and genuine nature. He was a member of the bluegrass gospel group, The Smokey Mountain Boys, where he shared his remarkable talent as a bass and baritone singer, bringing joy to many through his love of music, until he was called to preach at the age of 21.
Jack found solace in the great outdoors, with a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. His affinity for hay farming and staying busy led him to numerous roles throughout his career, including a significant tenure and recent promotion to Mail Room Supervisor at RICOH, having previously served as a Print Specialist.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jack's life and legacy. A visitation will be held on November 24, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home & Crematory Blairsville Chapel. A funeral service will take place on November 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM, also at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home & Crematory Blairsville Chapel, with Rev. Mark Alexander officiating. Interment will follow Ebenezer Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Eddie Cole, John Hall, Alan Cochran, John Cochran, and Doug Hughes. Danny Hemphill will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
As we reflect on Jack's life, we are reminded of the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the faith he exemplified. He will be deeply missed.
