Jack Gibson

Jack "Hoot" Gibson, 86, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022, at his home in Blairsville, GA. Jack was born August 5, 1936, in Hayesville, NC to Turn and Lena Gibson.  

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Turn Gibson and Lena Gibson. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Gibson; son Wesley (Judy) Gibson; daughter Sandra (Charles) Clifton; daughter Rebecca (Brad) Gowder; granddaughter Jessica (Jeremy) Dundore; granddaughter Brooke (J.W.) Harden; grandson Alan (Amy Lee) Gibson; grandson Jacob (Ruthanna) Dyer; grandson Joshua Dyer; grandson Jonah Dyer; grandson Shayne (Lexi Estrada) Ross; grandson Alex Ross; grandson Dalen Ross; granddaughter Tabitha (Ethan Turpin) Ross; grandson Austin Ross; six great-grandchildren; sister Opal Dyer; brother Terry Gibson; brother V.C. McClure. 

Hoot enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and spending time working the sawmill.  He loved country and bluegrass music and enjoyed several hobbies.

Funeral Service, on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at  2:00 PM at Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev Danny White officiating.  Music provided by Brooke Harden.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jacob Dyer, Gavin Dundore, Jeremy Dundore, Alan Gibson, Brad Gowder, J.W. Harden. 

The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home Monday, October 31, 2022, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Interment will follow in the New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
