James Dennis Chapman, age 80, passed away on January 16, 2026 in Blairsville, Georgia. He was born to the late Harold and Inez Bailey Chapman on July 18, 1945 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold and sister, Jean. 

He is survived by his son, Jamey (April) Chapman; grandchildren, Cheyenne (John) Winters and Sierra Chapman; great grandchildren, Waylon Winters and Carson Winters; special friend; Patsy Rhodes; many extended family members and friends also survive. Dennis loved spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters. 

He had many friends throughout the community and spent time visiting with them often. He enjoyed being out in God's great creation hunting and enjoying the beautiful mountains of his community. His work ethic was well established with 43 years doing power line construction. 

A memorial gathering in visitation is scheduled to be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026 from 2pm until 5pm at the Cochran/McDaniel Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
