James Aaron "Tink" Dyer, 89, of Hayesville, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. James was born January 31, 1935, in Milledgeville, GA to Harv and Pauline Dyer.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Dyer; father, Harv Dyer; mother, Pauline Byers; son, Lee Humphries; and brother, Ray Dyer.
He is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Dyer and Debra Wells; son, Ronnie Dyer; sister, Allie Joe Lanford; brothers, Terrell Archer and Gerald (Diane) Archer; grandchildren, Jennifer Ghorley, Sabrina Brown, Crystal Humphries, Dusty Humphries, David (Sarah) Dyer, Cody (Amber) Harris, Josh (Lyndsey) Dyer, and Harley (Jordan) Craig. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces nephews and other family survive.
He was a member of Moss Memorial Baptist Church in Hayesville. Tink served proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 6812. He was very active in the work of the VFW, helping with Meals on Wheels and Disabled American Veterans as well as many other acts of service. He was always willing to give of his time to help serve others and was well-loved bay all who knew him.
Tink's greatest accomplishment was being a wonderful and loving husband, dad, and grandfather. He loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them.
Memorial Service, on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Murphy Chapel with Rev. Charlie Shelton officiating. Music is provided by Moss Memorial Baptist Church.
