James Kaylor

James Homer Kaylor, 84 of McCaysville, GA went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 surrounded by his family. 

James was born on Saturday, May 25, 1940 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Andrew Jackson Kaylor & Helen Harrison Taylor, whom raised James with his step-father, Paul Taylor. 

James worked as a security guard for Cities Service / Tennessee Chemical Company for over 30 years. After leaving the local company, he worked for Walmart before retiring.

James loved the Lord and it was evident by the way he lived his life and loved to help others. He loved and adored his wife, daughters and grandchildren and he was equally loved and adored by them all. Each of his family members were certain they were his favorite because that is how he made each one feel. He loved family dinners and celebrations when everyone could be together. He always made sure everybody was okay, didn't need anything and made it home safely. If he ever had a bad day, his smile and cheerfulness kept it a secret to anyone around. He was always happy and his joyful "Good Morning" will be missed.

In addition to James' parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Kaylor and Andy Kaylor; Mother & Father in-law, Beryl & Lena Adams. 

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Janice Kaylor; daughters, Kimberly (Brock) Dickey and Paula (Stan) Hudson; Grandchildren, Natasha (Paul) McGrath, Nadia Phillips, Devin West, his best friend Nathan (Devan) Dickey, and Destiny (Matthew) Ray; Great-grandchildren, Hailey Duncan, Tegan West, Reed West and Piper Leach. 

Funeral services: Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA. 

The family will receive friends at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.
