Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Jerre L. Phillips, age 68, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Phillips was born in DeKalb, Illinois, a son of the late Harvey Phillips and the late June Kettley Phillips. He had proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Sergeant. Jerre later went on to work for the town of Longboat Key, in Florida, as a police officer - where he worked for 28 years before retirement. Jerre and his wife, Gretchen, have lived in Blairsville for the past 7 years, moving here from Florida. He was of the Methodist faith.
