Jerry Carpenter

Jerry Lynn Carpenter, age 71, a life-long resident of McCaysville, Georgia, passed suddenly on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. Jerry was born on September 2, 1953, to the late Jeanette and J. E. Carpenter, Jr.

Jerry was a kind, loving Christian man who was big hearted and generous, always wanting to help others. He was loved by all who were blessed to know him. He spent many years tracing their family tree. Jerry loved the Lord and was a member of Maranatha Church of God of Prophecy and was a valued member of the Voices of Hope Evangelistic Team.

Jerry was famous locally for his peanut butter fudge and although he couldn't eat it himself, made it and shared it with all his friends as well as his doctors. One comment made was that it was better than any store-bought candy.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Trish (Patt) and Terry Whitlow, and Sandra and Terry Reamsnyder; nephews Stacy (Heather) Whitlow and Jason (Joanna) Whitlow; great-nephews Brody, Brayden, Jack and Eli Whitlow.

Jerry's Celebration of Life will be conducted by Rev. Terry Reamsnyder on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, Georgia. The family will receive friends from noon to 2:00 p.m.
