Jerry Allen Rice

Jerry Allen Rice, age 76, of Morganton, GA, passed into the presence of his Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Austell GA. Jerry was born August 15, 1948, in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late George Rice and Sadie Rice.. Jerry was also preceded in death by a sister, Pat Rice. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Rice; daughter, Stephanie (Jeff) Davenport; brothers, Bethel (Mary) Rice, Freddie (Judy) Rice, and brother Billy Joe (Mary) Rice; grandchildren,Tyler Rice and Kells Stephens.

Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his family. For many years he was the owner and operator of the Rice Lumber and Pallet Company where builders respected the materials he produced. During his school years, he was a excellent athlete and excelled in sports. A highlight and honor for Jerry was when he was inducted into the Fannin County Sports Hall of Fame having been the manager of the boys and girls basketball teams for four years at East Fannin High School. He will be missed by many. He was a faithful servant to his Lord and Savior for many years sharing the Gospel message.

Funeral Services are scheduled to be held on Friday August 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Leroy Dalrymple and Rev. Sammy Ledford Sr. officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Doug Ledford, Mark Rice, Jason Ledford, Andy Rice, Issac Rice, and Ben Rice. Interment will follow in the Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery, Morganton,Georgia following the funeral service The family will be receiving friends at Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Blue Ridge Chapel on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Flowers are accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's name can be made to Midway Baptist Church Missions.
