Jimmie Rymer

Jimmie Frances Rymer, age 91, of McCaysville, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023, at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jimmie was born April 13, 1932, in McMinnville, TN to Virgil and Ruby Glenn.  After graduation from high school, Jimmie moved to Chattanooga to attend a business school, and that is where she met her husband, Bill.

Jimmie had a deep faith and was a member of First Baptist Church McCaysville/Copperhill.   She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, quilting, traveling, and most of all spending time with family. Jimmie was employed by First Bank of Polk County (later Century-South Bank) for twenty years. 

Jimmie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William "Bill" Rymer; father, Virgil Glenn; mother, Ruby Mitchell; brother, Robert Glenn; sisters, Debra Glenn and Ada Mayfield.

Jimmie is survived by her son Leland (Ann) Rymer; daughter, Amy (Charles) Layne; grandson Colin (Jessi) Rymer; granddaughter Hayley Rymer; grandson Noah Layne; great-grandchildren Beatrix Rymer and Townes Rymer. Additionally, she is survived by sister-in-law Pam Glenn, nephews David (Janice) Mayfield, nephew Tim Hansen, niece Becca Loper, many cousins and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating.  Music provided by Edward Vest.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Kent Arp, Stephen Matthews, Noah Layne, Colin Rymer, Mark Brooks, Zachary Welch, Jerry Pack, and Craig Green. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held following the service at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Morganton Mountain Baptist Association Medical Ministry at P.O. Box 1167 Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
