JL Tipton

J.L. Tipton, age 87, of Morganton, Georgia passed away on June 9, 2024 in Ellijay, Georgia.

Mr. Tipton was a Christian and a member of the Starcreek Baptist Church. He was a hard working man all of his life to provide for his family. J.L. truly enjoyed being outside in God's beautiful creation of nature. He found great joy in fishing and feeding his birds. Mr. Tipton was devoted to his family and had a special love for all the little ones that came into the family circle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Florence Head Tipton; and by eight brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Johnson Tipton; four children, Shane Tipton of Blue Ridge, Georgia, Frankin (Pam) Tipton of Virginia, Chris Tipton of Florida and Tammy Tipton of Marietta, Georgia. One sister survives; Clarice (Harold) Addington; Nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren survive along with many other family members and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Blue Ridge, Georgia at 3pm. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 1pm to 3pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 prior to the funeral service. Rev. Eric Davenport will be officiating. Music will be provided by The Heavenly Echoes. Interment will follow the service in the Chastain Memorial Park in Blue Ridge, Georgia. The following will be serving as pallbearers; Ricky Allen, Jonathan Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Mark Callihan, Tim Helton and Randy Johnson.
