Joe Preston Fair

Mr. Joe Preston Fair, 81, of Blairsville, Georgia, went to be with his Savior on Monday, June 1st, 2026. He was born on February 8, 1945, to Prince and Minnie Conley Fair, and was the youngest of seven siblings. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville.

Joe loved his family and took pride in guiding and helping in any way he could.

Joe was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and bird hunting. He could often be found watching westerns or his beloved Georgia Bulldogs. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Above all else, he was devoted to his grandkids, whom he loved to spoil.

Joe enjoyed working in the community. He volunteered at the Union County Historical Society and also worked at United Community Bank for 27 years. There, he made many lifelong friendships and helped a lot of folks in their financial journeys.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Prince and Minnie Fair; and siblings, Tommy Fair, Margaret Marlow, Cecil Fair; Billy Fair; Harold Fair; and Francis Partin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Evelyn Simpson Fair; son, Kenny (Melisa) Fair; daughter, Amanda (D.J.) Carlton; grandchildren, Ashley, Allison, Jade, Chase, Amelia, Amber, Sissy. and Mikey; and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Rock Chapel of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. The memorial service will follow at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Ricky Powell officiating. Music will be provided by Terry Hooper.
