John Frank Weiss

Johnnie Frank Weiss age 90, born on 8/04/1916 to Lena and Joseph Weiss in Buckman, MN and went to Heaven on 4/16/2007. Mr.Weiss was a resident of Blue Ridge GA, formerly of Lincoln Park, Southgate and Flat Rock, MI.Beloved husband of Anzie Lafayette of Blue Ridge GA, preceded in death by wife Helen Pugh in 1997; and mother of Kathryn and Kenneth, Agnes Chalmers Cooper in 1976.

Survivors include his children,
Dolores Martinez (Johnnie Sauceda) daughter of Irene Mashak of Wichita, KS; Kathryn Flegg (Steve) of Metamora, MI; Kenneth J.(Tryna Lum) ofAllegan, MI.
Three stepchildren Chuck, Ron, and Jodi of Blue Ridge, GA.

Grandchildren Pam Alexander (Richard) of Osawatomie, KS; Vickie Macias (Alex) of Wichita, KS; Ruth Mendez of Wichita, KS; Donald Weiss (Amber) of Gobles MI; Lorraine Karbel of Farmington Hills, MI; and Kimberly Tregoning (Bill) of Allegan, MI; 18 great grandchildren; and 16 great great grandchildren.

11 step grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren of Anzie Lafayette. 2 step grandchildren of Dolores Martinez.


Sister Clara Weiss of Cannon Falls, MN and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are 6 children and grandchildren of Helen Pugh.


Mr. Weiss was a WWII veteran serving our country for 9 years and retired from Uniroyal in 1969. He also worked at many of the downriver Detroit area bowling establishments from 1962-1992.

He a was a member of the Elks; in his leisure he enjoyed traveling, playing poker, woodworking, yard work, and story telling.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2007 at 2:00 PM from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Todd Freeman, Micheal Freeman, David Freeman, Grant Freeman, Levi LaFayette, Donald Weiss.

The family will receive friends 10:00 - 2:00, Friday, April 20 at the funeral home.

The Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
