John Costill Harris III

John Costill Harris III, age 38, of Acworth, GA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

John was a son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend whose kindness and quiet strength touched everyone who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Trisha & John; his brothers & sister, Christopher (Torie), Rachel, Zachary (Bryanna); and two little ones who brought him endless joy - his niece Elsie and nephew Hunter. He also leaves behind his Grandfather, Frank Burkart; Aunt Julie, Uncle David & cousin Faith; along with Leola, Exola, Dana and Sue. He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandmom, nana, pops and uncle Ronnie.

John was a man of perseverance, love for his family and was devoted to his grandparents. He lovingly cared for his grandparents and his grandfather Frank's dog, Beau.

Known for his craftsmanship and electrical skills he took great pride in his work tools and home projects. John worked and restored his retro Datsun 240z, his beloved 1993 Ford Ranger, his jon boat and motor, and his grandfather Frank's golf cart. He had a natural gift for electronics and anything audio-visual. He was always happy to fix or figure something out - especially for his grandparents TV, computer, and phones.

John was very proud of his time working with his grandfather's company- Burkart Windows and Glass - as a commercial window glazer, installer, and became foreman for the company. Another proud accomplishment was building and wiring his grandparent's boat dock at the lake house.

John will be remembered for his enduring strength and courage, warm heart, generous spirit and the love he had for his family and his lighthearted smile. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family and friends will remember his smile until one day they meet again.

We will hold tight to the love he gave and the peace John has now.

Funeral services for John C. Harris III will be held on Saturday March 7 , at 1:00 pm at the Blairsville Chapel of Cochran McDaniel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
