John Orlando Hill, Jr.

The passing of our Dad, John Orlando Hill, Jr., was on November 15, 2025.

He was a 30-year resident of Union County. He was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church and Choestoe Baptist Church. Born in Lebanon, Tennessee, to J. O. Hill, Sr, and Georgia Hankins Hill on January 7th, 1932.

He was raised in Tennessee and proudly served in the Air Force at age 18. He served in the Korean War in Japan as Staff Sargent assigned to Military Police. On his return home from tour of duty, three children arrived. Deborah Hill, Karen Hill Smith, and Michael Hill.

Dad attended the University of Tennessee, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.

He had numerous jobs, but Alcoa Aluminum was his longest employer. He moved to Indiana, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Georgia.

He was married to Avonelle Hill until her death. He then married Ann C Hill until her death.

He is survived by three children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at a later date in Chattanooga Military Cemetery.
