John Lee

John Loyd Lee sadly passed away on October 20, 2025, at home in Hiawassee, Georgia. He had just celebrated his ninety-seventh birthday in August. Loyd was born in Douglasville, to Rellie and Annie (Glass) Lee.

Loyd spent his career with Greystone Power Company, starting at age eighteen as a lineman and retiring as a surveyor. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Saraellen Warren and Ruby Murdock, twin brother Louis Lee; sisters Francis Miller, Annie Ruth Thompson, Betty Jean Loudermilk, and Elsie Davison; and special companion Claudia Wright.

Loyd is survived by son Jerry (Joan) of St. Simon's Island; grandsons Matthew of Portland, Oregon, Andrew (Olivia) of Oklahoma City; and twin great -grand daughters, Arcadia and Olwen.

Loyd loved golf, square dancing, and volunteering at the Georgia Mountain Fair.

The family thanks Judy Adams for her companionship and care for the last several years of Loyd's life.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
