Jon Thorton Rogers

Jon Thorton Rogers, age 82 of Murphy, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at his home . Mr. Rogers was born July 24, 1932 in Murphy, NC to the late George Rogers and the late Lela Chambers Rogers. He was a member of US Air Force Veteran Korea War and grew up attending Grape Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and hunting Ginseng. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: daughter, Wendy (Billy) Ayers, granddaughters, Angel Ayers, Grace Ayers, Beth Ayers, Starla Ayers, sisters, Ann Mingus, Lois Habbard and Gamay Dodd.

Services: Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 2:30 pm at the Grape Creek Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 2:30 on Wednesday before the service.
