Mr. Joseph Orvin Dilbeck, age 66, of Morganton, Georgia, passed way on Friday, February 3, 2023 in the North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia. Mr. Dilbeck was born on April 10, 1956 to Joseph Elmer Dilbeck and Eula Essie Lance Dilbeck. Mr. Dilbeck worked in construction. He enjoyed going to the shooting range, hunting, fishing, and cooking out. He enjoyed coaching baseball with his children early in the sport and then watching his children as a spectator later. He also was an avid watcher of news broadcasts and had a keen interest in politics. He was of the Christian faith in the Morganton Baptist Church, Morganton, Georgia.
Mr. Dilbeck was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Richard Dilbeck, Billy Dilbeck, Jim Dilbeck and Ray Dilbeck. He is survived by his children; Daughter, Julie (John) Turk, Sons, Lance Dilbeck, Joey (Ashley) Dilbeck, and Daniel (Becky) Dilbeck. A brother, Ron Dilbeck survives as well. He is further survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Joseph Orvin Dilbeck are scheduled for Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 2pm from the chapel of the Henry Cochran Funeral Home in Blue Ridge, Georgia with Rev. Eric Kinkaid officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, February 6, 2023 from 5pm until 8pm and on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 12 noon until the 2pm funeral hour at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery (Flinthill/Morganton).
Flowers are being accepted or donations in memory of Mr. Dilbeck can be made to the Empty Stocking Thrift Store in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
